Cloudsail Energy Solar scheduling software
Run more of your site on its own solar, with numbers you can defend.
The Renewables Operating System is solar scheduling software. The working prototype builds a schedule that moves flexible electrical work into the hours your solar is producing, inside your grid connection limit, without touching essential loads. DemandProof is flexibility measurement you can check, independent of who gets paid on it.
Status: Software prototype. Schedules from imported or synthetic data. Not yet connected to site equipment.
01 Software and research
Software and research for sites and homes with solar.
DemandProof and FlexTwin EdgeHub are research and development projects. Their status is shown on each one.
Renewables OS
Renewables Operating System
Solar scheduling software
Takes your solar and load data, imported or synthetic. Schedules flexible work into the solar window inside limits you set: deadlines, urgent jobs, grid import. Records a reason for every decision.
How it schedulesDemandProof
DemandProof
Flexibility measurement you can check
Estimates what the site would have used anyway, puts an uncertainty band around that estimate, and holds the figure back when the data cannot support one. Experimental prototype.
Numbers you can checkFlexTwin EdgeHub
FlexTwin EdgeHub
On-site digital twin of your building
Laboratory prototype, designed to run at the site on your own computer so your data stays there. Shows where every kilowatt-hour went, forecasts tomorrow and recommends when flexible loads could move.

TropicFlex
Home air-con on solar, without the damp
Simulation research into moving a home's split-system air-con into its solar hours, inside comfort and humidity limits.
Cooling on solar02 What you get
A schedule, your limits kept, and a record of every decision.
- A daily schedule that moves flexible work into your solar window, inside limits you set
- Your grid connection limit kept and urgent work on time, every half hour
- A record of each decision: what ran, when, and why
- Estimates with a margin, and a number held back when it cannot be defended
- Click any figure to see where it came from, and whether it was recorded, estimated or simulated
03 Renewables Operating System
Flexible work moves. Your limits do not.
Pumping, cooling, compressing and charging can usually wait a few hours. The Renewables Operating System decides when that work runs so more of it uses your own solar.
- 01
Hard limits first
Deadlines, urgent work, grid import limits and how many jobs run at once are set by you and never traded away for a better schedule.
- 02
A checker on every schedule
Every schedule it produces is re-checked independently against your limits before it is used.
- 03
A reason for every job
A decision log records why each job ran when it did. Energy data is labelled recorded or estimated, never blurred.

04 DemandProof
A saving is an estimate. Test how far it holds.
A reduction is measured against what the site would have used, which never actually happened. DemandProof estimates that number, puts an uncertainty band around it, and holds the figure back when the data cannot support one.
Status: Experimental prototype. Indicative results. Band not yet calibrated.
- Independent of who gets paid on the figure
- An uncertainty band on its estimate, labelled as not yet calibrated
- A held-back number is reported as held back, never as a guess
05 FlexTwin EdgeHub
Your building, as data. On site.
FlexTwin EdgeHub is a digital twin of your building, designed to run on site. Import your interval meter data and it shows where every kilowatt-hour went, forecasts tomorrow, and recommends when flexible loads could move, with the uncertainty attached.
Status: Laboratory prototype. Advisory only.
- 01
Every number labelled
Measured, derived, estimated or declared. You always know where a figure came from.
- 02
You stay in control
It recommends when loads could move. Nothing is switched without you.
- 03
Designed to run on site
Built to need no cloud account, so your meter data stays on your own machine and it keeps working without the internet.

06 TropicFlex
Cool the house on the sun, without the damp.
TropicFlex is simulation research into a controller that would move the split-system air-con a home already has into the hours its solar is producing, while keeping the room inside comfort and humidity limits. It is aimed at humid tropics homes, where cooling at the wrong time means damp and mould, not just a bigger bill.
Status: Simulation research. It does not control equipment.
- Designed for the split system already on the wall
- Comfort, humidity and condensation checked every 15 minutes in simulation
- Every change recorded with a plain reason
- Shows the misses too, so you can see where the limits were not kept
07 By situation
Sites with solar and work that can move.
- A
Industrial sites with solar
Cold stores, pump stations, workshops and packing sheds running on the grid while the roof is producing.
Plan that work into the solar window, inside your limits, with urgent work never delayed.
- B
Buildings that want to see their energy first
A meter export and no clear picture of where the energy goes or which loads could move.
FlexTwin EdgeHub turns that export into a digital twin of the building, with a forecast and plain recommendations, on site.
- C
Energy teams who need numbers they can defend
An energy number has to survive a question from finance, an auditor or the company paying you.
DemandProof gives you the estimate, its uncertainty band and a coded reason whenever it holds a number back, independent of who gets paid on it.
08 Questions
What you need, and what you get.
What do I need to have?
Solar and electrical work that can move a few hours, and meter data we can import. We confirm the details for your site during scoping.
Does it work with my solar and my equipment?
The prototype works from imported meter data and does not yet connect to equipment. Connecting it to the meters and controls on site is part of a pilot, and every site is different, so we confirm this during scoping, before anything is connected.
What does working with you involve?
A scoping call to agree which loads or meters, what counts as a pass and how long it runs. Then we connect, run for the agreed period in the open, and give you a written report you keep.
Does it work outside Australia?
Yes. The energy software works from interval meter data and weather, which every market has. The DemandProof prototype calculates AEMO's BM2 method for Australian markets and reports ASHRAE Guideline 14 reference metrics, the measurement and verification reference widely used in North America. We confirm the data your market needs during scoping.
Where is my data kept?
We agree where your site data is kept, and who can see it, in writing before anything is connected.
Have a site with solar and work that can move?
Working with us starts small and time-boxed, with the scope agreed up front: which loads or meters, what counts as a pass, how long it runs, and a written report you keep.
