Cairns, Queensland
Cloudsail Technologies, a regional Queensland technology company based in Cairns, has been named a finalist in the 2026 Innovate with nbn® Grants Program, in the Innovation for Productivity category, for Arthur.
Arthur is a continuous model that monitors your infrastructure and alerts you when something goes wrong. Cloudsail is developing it into a property resilience service for regional Australia, designed to use the nbn connection already at a property, together with cameras and sensors, to tell owners when something needs attention.
Living in regional Queensland, the team knows what happens after a cyclone or major storm. Owners might not be able to get back to their property straight away, trades can be hard to reach, and often the first problem is simply knowing what has happened.
“In regional Australia, the first problem after a storm is often simply knowing what has happened, and whether the information you are relying on is still true. Arthur is about earlier awareness and evidence people can check: which cameras, gauges and sensors are working, what they reported and when. Being named a finalist means a great deal to a small team in Far North Queensland, and we are grateful to nbn for the recognition.”
Arthur runs today as a working demonstration on synthetic data, covering preparation before an event, monitoring during it, and a signed, independently checkable evidence record after it. A first trial on regional Queensland properties will test water intrusion, power disruption, unusual activity and property damage, and measure how accurate, reliable and fast the alerts are, and whether owners find them useful.
Cloudsail invites regional councils, accommodation operators, property managers and small businesses to explore a scoped trial.
