02 The company
About Cloudsail Technologies.
Cloudsail Technologies Pty Ltd is an Australian company established in Cairns, Queensland, in 2016, founded by Virginia Graham and Phil Riches. It makes new and existing technology more intelligent. Its lead product, Arthur, is property and infrastructure assurance software: it checks whether cameras, gauges and sensors are working, and keeps the evidence behind every assessment, before, during and after an event. Cloudsail also develops energy software, and runs energy research, for sites with solar, and is building Palace of Tides, an original Australian game in pre-production.

03 Founder
Virginia Graham, co-founder and director.

Virginia lives in Far North Queensland. When the last cyclone came through, her area was hit and the flood warnings came too late.
She started her career in finance, on the treasury desk at ANZ and as an adviser at Salomon Smith Barney. She was the first investor in Shareablee, a social media analytics company later acquired by Comscore. She helped commercialise PumpCX's load-testing software, sold to banks and government, and has brought further products to market for enterprise buyers.
She studied chemical engineering and holds a Bachelor of Commerce in finance, accounting and business economics. She built Cloudsail to stay vendor independent, so the answer it gives is the one the data supports.

04 Arthur
What Arthur does, and where it is up to.
Arthur is a continuous model that monitors your infrastructure and alerts you when something goes wrong. Before an event it shows what needs attention from the site's inspection records. During an event it shows which cameras, gauges and sensors are usable, and says when the evidence is not enough. After an event it rebuilds what happened and produces a signed evidence report anyone can check offline.
Shown today
- The full Before, During and After application, on a fictional site and synthetic cyclone
- Camera, gauge, power and communications health, with shared causes
- Past assessments re-run and matched exactly
- A signed evidence report with an offline verifier
In research
- Forecasting what water will do next
- Warning that a road or crossing could be cut, and community isolation
- Independent validation of any forecast
Next
- Live feeds from a pilot site
- Alerts to the people responsible for a site
For accuracy. Arthur is not yet in use at a site and is not a warning service: official warnings and evacuation directions come from emergency services and local disaster management groups. A signed report shows the record is exactly as Arthur held it; it does not prove a sensor was right.
